L HOUSE is an architectural response to a growing reality of Non-Nuclear, Multi-Family, and Inter/Multi-Generation livings in the contemporary city. By socio-cultural or economic needs, we have been accommodating the forms of extended family, young families living together, families with parents, families with seniors, and so on, in modified forms of spaces, primarily designed for nuclear urban living. Developed for Lee’s family in Etobicoke, Ontario. Lee wishes to live with his parents and grandparents while raising three children. The ambition of the L HOUSE is to take the multi-family living as an architectural assignment, an opportunity to generate an urban spatial typology.
